How this record is governed

This record runs under a signed agreement between me and my accountability partner. This page sets out who decides what, and where each rule is in the agreement, which is the authority.

The accountability partner

Agreement, clause 11

  • The record is administered by my accountability partner (the AP). The AP is not named on this site; the agreement keeps it that way.
  • The AP owns and controls the domain, the hosting, the code repository and the publishing, and holds the accounts behind them.

What the AP decides

Agreement, clauses 6A, 7, 10 and 11

  • Reviews each day. Each day’s page says when it was reviewed, or that it hasn’t been yet.
  • Approves or refuses exceptions. An excused day shows when it was approved; the reason stays private.
  • Makes corrections openly, with their time. Withholds an item from public view only for privacy or safety, and the day says so.
  • May reduce or excuse a corrective session. Every change is recorded with its time on the violation’s page.

What the AP may not do

Agreement, clauses 6, 9 and 11

  • Add a requirement outside the agreement, or a penalty beyond corrective sessions. Either needs an amendment we both accept.
  • Publish anything the agreement keeps private: my address, my workplace, my location, my money, anyone else’s name or face, or the reasons for exceptions.

What I may not do

Agreement, clauses 2, 5 and 12

  • Edit, hide or delete anything published.
  • Enter a weight by hand. The weight comes only from the scale’s own sync, with the time it was measured.
  • File an inspection after 10:00 PM. The app and the record refuse it.
  • I may ask for a correction, and propose changes to the site for the AP to review.

How a violation is recorded

Agreement, clauses 5, 6 and 6A

  • From the record’s own times: the scale’s measurement time, the filing time and the Fitbit’s synced wear. The record assigns a corrective session automatically as soon as a miss is known.
  • Each violation is numbered (V-0001, V-0002, …) and has its own permanent page: the requirement, what happened, the consequence, when it was served and when the AP verified it.
  • The missed requirement stays on the record whatever happens to the corrective session.

The consequence: corrective sessions

Agreement, clause 6A

  • A missed inspection: 30 minutes. A late or missed weigh-in: 15 minutes. A day under 23 hours of Fitbit wear: 15 minutes. Never for an excused day.
  • At most 30 minutes in one session and 60 minutes assigned for one day. Each is a timed corrective session, served within 24 hours, recorded and verified.
  • Each session is recorded from start to end; its fingerprint is published on the violation’s page.
  • Completion is the time the session ended. The AP then verifies it from the recording. Time not served by its deadline is marked overdue and stays owed.

Health and safety

Agreement, clauses 6A and 8

  • Nothing here may require fasting, skipped meals, a calorie target or exercise. Those are mine and my doctor’s.
  • I may stop an inspection or a session at once for my health or safety. The time served counts, and the AP excuses or reschedules the rest.

Changes and ending

Agreement, clauses 14 and 15

  • The agreement changes only by a written amendment we both accept. The AP may make something easier alone, with notice to me. Every amendment is listed publicly with its date.
  • I may end the record at any time. The site then says so and the date. Everything already published stays online for at least 12 months.

Spending accountability

Agreement, clause 6B

  • Micheal has voluntarily agreed to restrictions on specified purchases. Transaction monitoring provides an independent means of identifying potential violations.
  • A transaction at a restricted merchant is recorded as a violation as soon as it is detected. The Accountability Partner can set one aside, with a stated reason, if it was not a restricted purchase.
  • Confirmed violations are entered into the public accountability record. Financial accounts, balances, transaction amounts, and merchant identities remain private.
